Talento Yuka (29) has been cast in next season's TV Asahi drama series "My Girl." She will play the girlfriend of Arashi member Masaki Aiba (26).
Unveiled earlier this month, "My Girl" is Aiba's first starring drama role. The show is based on Mizu Sahara's manga of the same name, which tells the story of a young man (Aiba) who learns about the death of his former girlfriend (Yuka) who left him six years earlier. He also finds out that she secretly gave birth to his daughter (Momoka Ishii, 6), whom he takes in and starts to raise.
Although the main story takes place after the girlfriend's death, the character will still appear in every episode during flashback scenes. Yuka's last regular role in a full drama series on a commercial network was in 2002's "Zoku Heisei Meoto Jawan." However, she did appear in several episodes of last year's hit drama "Maou."
"My Girl" starts in October, airing Friday nights at 11:15pm.
I hope this drama would turn real good just like Maou of Ohno. I will be waiting...
Sugoi! Ureshiyo, when I read tokyograph about Arashi releasing a new best album to celebrate their 10th Anniversary! Minna, let's support them by buying the original CD's. I can't wait. And another Asia Tour is on it's way. Here is the tokyograph news:
Arashi has announced the release of a new best album titled "All the BEST! 1999-2009." As the title indicates, the collection will cover their entire ten-year career, and will consist of the title tracks from all of their singles to date.
The tracklist begins with their 1999 debut "A-RA-SHI" and includes 31 songs (26 singles plus their double A-sides), plus an additional track written by Arashi to thank their fans. According to the listing on CDJapan, the two-disc album does not contain Satoshi Ohno's solo song "Kumori Nochi, Kaisei." In addition, it is reported that the first press edition of the album will come with a bonus CD containing 10 more songs selected by the members of Arashi.
Arashi has also scheduled an upcoming tour, which will include three consecutive shows at the National Stadium on August 28-30. Last year, Arashi became just the third artist to do a solo concert there (after SMAP and Dreams Come True). Now, they will be the first ever to play at the stadium for three straight days.
The tour, which finishes on January 17, 2010, will also include the five major domes in Japan. The group expects a total attendance of roughly 760,000 fans over the course of the tour.
Ganbarre minna! We'll support you all the as always.

Our very own Nino Kazunari: to play as a killer in his new Butai "Strangers on a Train"
The play is based on the popular novel of the same name, which was turned into a film by Alfred Hitchcock in 1951. The suspenseful story tells of a wealthy young man named Bruno who happens to meet an up-and-coming architect named Guy during a train ride. They each have their own difficult personal circumstances, and Bruno proposes that they "exchange" murders - Bruno will kill Guy's unfaithful wife if Guy kills Bruno's father.
Robert Allan Ackerman, who has handled several Broadway productions, will produce the play. Ninomiya has been cast as the wild and devilish Bruno, while Kumiko Akiyoshi plays his mother. Shige Uchida is also part of the cast. Coincidentally, Akiyoshi previously played Ninomiya's mother in the 2003 movie "Ao no Hono," which also featured Ninomiya as a killer, though under different circumstances.
"Strangers on a Train" is being performed at The Globe Tokyo from July 18 to August 11.
GReeeeN's "Haruka" picked up the #2 spot at 63,000 in sales, and Ringo Shiina's newest landed at #3. Ikimono Gakari (#7), SPEED (#8), and Yui Aragaki (#10) also had new releases in the top ten.
Meanwhile, news was also made with the latest posthumous release from ZARD, "Sunao ni Ienakute." Ranked 5th on the charts, it became ZARD's 43rd top-ten single, tying her for the current record with Southern All Stars, SMAP, and Ayumi Hamasaki. Originally released as a B-side on her second single back in 1991, "Sunao ni Ienakute" has been recorded as a new version with singer Mai Kuraki featured in the song's chorus.
On the album charts, the #1 spot was taken by "Trash We'd Love" from The HIATUS, a new band formed by ELLEGARDEN's Takeshi Hosomi. It sold 80,000 copies, beating out Ken Hirai's new album, "Ken's Bar II." Other artists in the top ten were May J. (#4), Yoko Kanno & The Seatbelts (#6), Yuna Ito (#7), and MEG (#10).
Yoshh!!! This is double happiness... Another Arashi Member got an award! No other than our beloved DOS Nino!!! Yay! Omedetou!

I was done watching the Ryusei no Kizuna and he really is a very good actor. He's very versatile. He made me laugh and cry at the same time. He always moves me with great emotion. His voice alone can make me cry. So what more if I see tears rolling down his tender cheeks. He deserved it. His smiles make me melt. Keep it up, Nino-chan!!!! We will support you all through the way!!!
Way to go guys!!!! Keep it UP!!! Ganbarre!

Nikkan Sports has finished announcing the winners of its 12th annual reader-chosen Drama Grand Prix. The awards cover the period from April 2008 to March 2009, with the final nominees consisting of the top five from each season.
The TBS thriller "Maou" was voted Best Drama. Arashi leader Satoshi Ohno picked up the title of Best Actor, impressing fans with his acting in that series. Meanwhile, Best Actress was won by a wide margin by Aoi Miyazaki , who starred in the hit taiga drama "Atsuhime."
NEWS and Kanjani8 member Ryo Nishikido was the top choice for Best Supporting Actor, having played the violent and possessive boyfriend in Fuji TV's "Last Friends." Juri Ueno also picked up Best Supporting Actress for the same drama series.
I am very proud of being an Arashi fan. They never failed to get to the top. Yet their feet remains on the ground. You deserve it Ohno-chan!
Ja ne! Mata..
Sho Sakurai is still the favorite. hehehe.. Here is the Oricon survey results:
For the male rankings, one female stated that Sakurai "thinks quickly and seems like the type to remember things about work quickly." Working as a newscaster for NTV's "NEWS ZERO," Sakurai has gained a lot of attention for his opinions. In the survey, he was followed by Teppei Koike of the duo WaT and pro golfer Ryo Ishikawa.
Among the women, Becky's regular TV appearances have given her a very cheerful image. Some of the survey takers described her as someone who can "read the situation at hand," and as someone "so lively and cheerful that it'd be a nice breath of fresh air to have her around in the company." Right behind her in the rankings were actresses Aya Ueto and Yui Aragaki.
Here is the tokyograph news:
During Iijima's battle with cancer, he wrote an essay titled "Gan ni Ikasarete," which formed part of the basis for the 2007 film "Tengoku de Kimi ni Aetara," a biography of Iijima that starred Takao Osawa and Misaki Ito. Around the same time, Iijima penned a novel also titled "Tengoku de Kimi ni Aetara," as well as a sequel titled "Kamisama ga Kureta Namida." The drama special is based on those two books, which sold more than 450,000 copies combined.
The drama is also being called "Tengoku de Kimi ni Aetara." Ninomiya plays the main character, a psychiatrist working in the counseling room of a cancer treatment center by the beach. While tending to the patients, part of his job involves taking dictation from them when they want to send a letter to a loved one.
Inoue plays the psychiatrist's wife and mother to the couple's twin daughters. Other cast members include Nobuko Miyamoto as a nurse, Yusuke Santamaria as a surgeon, and Naoto Ogata as the owner of a surf shop.
The broadcast date for the drama has not yet been determined.
I'm sooo jealous of Mao. Kyaaahhhh!!!! She gets to pair with the DOS Duo. Sugoi desu ne?
